There are many times that we all need healing in one form or another. Healing from grief and pain in the loss of a dear friend or loved one. Healing from a disease or an accident. Healing from hurtful words or actions which, possibly a loved one, was said to you or done to you. Healing comes to each of us in many forms.

Which one do you need today?

Jesus can bring a healing spirit into your heart and change it from one that is mistrustful and alone to one that sees the good in people and comforts others when they feel down. Many times we feel that we are the ones who need the healing, but when we offer prayers and comfort to someone else we are the ones who get the most benefit. The love of God, which we bring to others through our prayers, works in both directions. It touches the one that we are praying for but it also flows through us and into us to heal us in ways that we don’t even know that we need.

Healing…is something that Jesus did when He was here and He is still doing it today. Through medicine and doctors and through our diet and exercise, we are healed and helped in ways that we didn’t understand could be done. A little change here, a walk for ten minutes or so, eating less red meat and more fish…these are little changes that we can do which will bring healing to us along with prayer.

Healing of our hearts and our souls, that is the very thing which Jesus can do even when we don’t think it is possible. Sometimes it will happen when we just don’t believe it or even when we don’t want it. God has His purposes and He works in our lives to fulfill His purposes in ways that we can’t imagine. Not that He forces us to do something, but the circumstances of our lives will work for His glory and our good…if we allow it to.

Unfortunately, we are the controllers of that part of our lives. By that I mean that we choose whether we will do this or that for God today or tomorrow, God doesn’t force us to follow His directions. He will allow us to fall and fail in our own attempts at doing what WE think is right and when we realize that it isn’t, then He will pick us up and begin again. Just as the potter at his wheel. The re-making and re-molding process isn’t pleasant, nor is it what we would want to experience most of the time, but in His process and His time we will do His will in our lives.

It may be just before the end of our lives, but it will accomplish that which He deems is necessary and glorious for His Kingdom. It will not show the type of glory that our world expects, but to God even a small coin is worth much more than gold when given with the right attitude.

Hopelessness, fear, frustration, anger….

All of us have felt these before, in one form or another. Some people feel them more powerfully because of their situation in life or where they live. Sometimes the reason for these feelings is something that we have been addicted to or something that we are addicted to. The main reason that I am writing this is to bring our realization of their existence into the open and show it for what it is…each of these is caused by and brought on by spirits who serve Satan and his demons. We have to live on this Earth for a time and this plane of existence is the same realm that he has as his kingdom for a time. He knows that this time is growing shorter, especially now, and the violence and mayhem that are all over the world is the evidence of his frustration and anger, not so much at God but directed at us because we are each made in the likeness of God.

God considers us as His children, whether we have claimed that as our own existence and future by accepting Jesus as our Savior or not. We are His creation and He knows which of us will accept the gift of grace that is offered and which of us will not accept it. We are not forced to accept it because you cannot force a person to love you and accept a gift from you! The lives that we lead today and every day are ones that we decide which side of the aisle we will sit on. We might sit on the side with Satan and lead a life that we do whatever we feel like doing and damn the consequences, or we may choose to realize that our life would be better if we served Jesus and asked Him to give us the strength to get through our pain. What pain you may ask? When you leave the side of your “friends” who had helped you get into the sins that you find yourself in, you will feel pain of separation and fear, you will also feel like you have let them down by not going with them.

The places and things that you were doing before Jesus came into your life are still going to tempt you, as will your friends, but with time and strength from Him you can overcome those feelings and the temptation to do what they are doing and go where they go. Yes, you will fail to stop saying things that a child of God shouldn’t say. Yes, you will stumble and go back but that doesn’t mean that you have lost anything, it just means that you need to get deeper into God’s Word and prayer every day! As we all need to do, we need to draw closer to Him by reading and studying His Word. We are loved by the Creator, what better reason do you need to come close to God?

All of your fear, frustration and hopelessness will go away when you become His child and draw near to Him. It may not happen immediately, but as you get closer to Him and He draws closer to you, those feelings will lessen and go away eventually.

Days, hours, minutes and seconds….

Our lives are measured by these as well as by years and decades, yet many people get hung up on their age and how they look or feel. I wake up in the morning, some days with pain and sometimes without, but if I worried about my age or the way that I feel…what good would that do me? I can’t change any of it, they don’t have a cure for arthritis of any kind, my balance cannot be restored as it was unless God heals me, so why should I worry? Jesus told His disciples not to worry because it was pointless, not the exact quote I know but you get the point.

You have likely heard it from family and friends, that there isn’t anything that you can accomplish by worry so just don’t! In the world that we live in, that is far easier said than done! God does love you, saint or sinner doesn’t matter, and by saint I don’t mean without sin I just mean that you have given your heart and life to Jesus. We are, all of us, sinners saved by the grace and mercy of God. What you or I choose to do with our position and our calling in Jesus will only determine our reward in Heaven. Your works on this Earth and this life don’t pave the road to get you there, Jesus did all that was necessary for your salvation.

The only part that we can play is to let others know about Him and the grace afforded to us through Him. Tell someone how Jesus has touched your life, in what way, show them the path to take to meet Him if they will follow. Time is growing short and we must be doing God’s work while we can. Worry only hinders your witness and your daily walk with Jesus and since you can’t have an impact on your situation in life, why not just give the problem to the One Who can do something about it?

How is your life?

There are many who consider life to be a drudge or a trial and for some it may be. I am not going to tell you that life is easy everywhere nor does it depend upon your beliefs to make it so. Sometimes your life and your beliefs make your life easier and sometimes your beliefs can make your life harder depending upon where you live. No, life is not easy in America or anywhere else that you may live. In many places today civil wars are raging, there are religious disputes that involve the death of those on both sides, then there are places where there is drought and starvation. There are other places and problems in the world, some with more problems than the ones that I have mentioned.

Compared to much of the world, we in America are all rich! Why? Because even those of us who don’t make much in the way of money, have far more luxuries than those in Africa or India or Turkey. The monthly wages for a working man in sub-Saharan Africa or even on the north coast of Africa are less than four hundred dollars. In most countries the monthly wages are less than 100 dollars! So yes, compared to much of the world Americans are rich, even those without regular income.

Life is hard in many places, but in the next few years it will get worse. The end of the age is coming to a close and economics in our world are about to take a drastic turn. Please make any preparations that you can to take care of your family. Pray for God’s forgiveness for our land and for yourself so that we can be ready when He appears. The King is coming for His Church, His Bride. Be ready or not, it is your choice.

Live your life so that others might see!!

The best sermons and advice you ever get are from people who you see living their lives out in the open! Not bottled up in a cubicle or on a ward in a hospital, I got these words from a friend of mine today, I know you have likely seen some of them elsewhere…but pass them on to others so they can share too!

The following are quotes from people who realized that life is a fleeing commodity.
Appreciate each day.
1. Today, I interviewed my grandmother for part of a research paper I’m working on for my Psychology class. When I asked her to define success in her own words, she said, “Success is when you look back at your life and the memories make you smile.”
 ———————————————————-
2. Today, I asked my mentor, a very successful business man in his 70’s, what his top 3 tips are for success were. He smiled and said, “Read something no one else is reading, think something no one else is thinking, and do something no one else is doing.”
3. Today, after a 72 hour shift at the fire station, a woman ran up to me at the grocery store and gave me a hug. When I tensed up, she realized I didn’t recognize her. She let go with tears of joy in her eyes and the most sincere smile and said, “On 9-11-2001, you carried me out of the World Trade Center .”
 —————————————————————————————–
4.  Today, after I watched my dog get run over by a car, I sat on the side of the road holding him and crying. And just before he died, he licked the tears off my face.
 —————————————————————————————–
5.  Today at 7AM, I woke up feeling ill, but decided I needed the money, so I went into work. At 3PM I got laid off. On my drive home I got a flat tire. When I went into the trunk for the spare, it was flat too. A man in a BMW pulled over, gave me a ride, we chatted, and then he offered me a job. I start tomorrow.
 —————————————————————————————–
6.  Today, as my father, three brothers, and two sisters stood around my mother’s hospital bed, my mother uttered her last coherent words before she died. She simply said, “I feel so loved right now. We should have
gotten together like this more often.”
 —————————————————————————————–
7.  Today, I kissed my dad on the forehead as he passed away in a small hospital bed. About 5 seconds after he passed, I realized it was the first time I had given him a kiss since I was a little boy.
8.  Today, in the cutest voice, my 8-year-old daughter asked me to start recycling. I chuckled and asked, “Why?” She replied, “So you can help me save the planet.” I chuckled again and asked, “And why do you want to save the planet?” “Because that’s where I keep all my stuff,” she said.
 ——————————————————————————————
9.  Today, when I witnessed a 27-year-old breast cancer patient laughing hysterically at her 2-year-old daughter’s antics, I suddenly realized that I need to stop complaining about my life and start celebrating it again.
 ——————————————————————————————
10. Today, a boy in a wheelchair saw me desperately struggling on crutches with my broken leg and offered to carry my backpack and books for me. He helped me all the way across campus to my class and as he was leaving he said, “I hope you feel better soon.”
 ——————————————————————————————
11. Today, I was feeling down because the results of a biopsy came back malignant. When I got home, I opened an e-mail that said, “Thinking of you today. If you need me, I’m a phone call away.”  It was from a high school friend I hadn’t seen in 10 years.
12. Today, I was traveling in Kenya and I met a refugee from Zimbabwe . He said he hadn’t eaten anything in over 3 days and looked extremely skinny and unhealthy. Then my friend offered him the rest of the sandwich he was eating. The first thing the man said was, “We can share it.”

How can you protect yourself from evil?

In Ephesians 6: 10-15 it says: 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God,so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

I know this is a blog about successful living but in today’s climate of evil and all other forms of unrighteousness, we need the armor of God to help in whatever endeavor we are in. In some business operations this might seem to be out-of-place, but if you want your business to truly be successful, you need to have God as your partner! If you don’t, then the other side will come into your business in some way and cause it to prosper but it will be unrighteous success.

You can steal money, get away with it and use it for good things but Satan has his hands in it so eventually it will come to light and you will lose all of your success and the things which the world can see will be taken as well. If you truly are a Christian business person, you always want the business principles of God to keep your business on the right track. Christianity and business go together because, the way to have a successful business…one that is respected by others for the way that you DO business.

Doing business with the principles of God is the best way, the most effective way of having a successful business in this world and the best way for this to happen is to donate at least ten percent of your income to God. Does He need it? No, God owns all in the universe. He wants you to acknowledge His portion and give it willingly to a ministry or church or an organization that is truly Christian in its operation so that it will accomplish something for His Kingdom.

Your life and your business will reflect your Christianity or your unbelief, some people will not notice but some will. Your righteousness was given to you when you became a Christian but the rest of you hasn’t got it until you read the Word and take it into your heart, and into your spirit and that way the rest of you can experience the righteousness of God in all areas of your life and your business!

Hello, its been awhile

Life has a way of placing things in your way to keep you from keeping up with things sometimes. Like this blog. I haven’t been here recently, as you may have noticed.

I have been busy with diagnostic tests and all of the stuff that goes along with them. I won’t have to do it again for five years, thank God!

I won’t go into the details but I think you can guess what went on so I will just leave out the gory details. Anyway, life really can throw you for a loop sometimes no matter who you are or whether you are a Christian or not. I will not get “preachy” any more than usual today. Truly, we should thank God for all of our blessings every day. Many of them we don’t realize are true blessings, such as being able to get up and go to the restroom or to be able to walk at all. For many people in the world, they can wake up but they can’t get up to go to the bathroom or to the table to eat breakfast.

So, just waking up this morning is a blessing, drinking your coffee is a blessing, looking at the newspaper or television news (as depressing as that sounds) is a blessing sometimes. Just being able to breathe and get around at all is a blessing. All of these, or at least many of them, we take for granted. We think that tomorrow will always be there, but we’re not guaranteed tomorrow. If you are awake, then today is the day of salvation. Preferably, right now.

See, God gives you your breath and even though it is something that we don’t have to tell ourselves to do, it is still a gift from Him. Every action that we take, from getting up and putting our clothes on to fixing the coffee, is a gift from God. Your children are gifts from Him to you and it doesn’t matter how much they are troublesome or hyperactive, they are still His gift to you so that you can learn from the experience. Some of us don’t like the “learning curve” that raising a child is, but if you put God first in your life and allow Him to direct your actions daily, life itself isn’t really that bad.

Yes, there will be days when you just want to kill yourself and others too, but seek Him out during those trying times and His Wisdom will help you to calm down. I know, most of us have been taught that we should be self-sufficient and able to handle any situation. But, when reality sets in and you realize that self-sufficiency isn’t all that it is “cracked up” to be, the only One Who can truly help is available to you, if you will give your life to Him and ask for His strength and His wisdom in your time of need. It doesn’t matter if you need Him to help you find your wallet or your keys or to make a decision on a new home or car, God cares about you and wants to be in your life.

He is a triune God, even though many religions don’t recognize Him as such. When Jesus was baptized, all three of God’s manifestations were present. The Son, the Holy Spirit that looked like a dove and God the Father who said, “This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased.” It is true that the Bible doesn’t relate to the three as the same, but in Genesis God said, “Let us make man in our image”. Proper English translation is that He was referring to the three of them. Jesus told His disciples, unless I go back to my Father, the Helper (Holy Spirit) can’t come. God is the only Creator, but He is in three Persons and able to be in more than one place at a time.

God loves all of mankind, He just doesn’t love the sinful ways that we live our lives. Think on this and please attend a Bible teaching church while we are still here to make the choice of allowing Him into our lives so others can see Him in us.

Love, life, and living

Something which we all do every day in some form or another but how do you really live everyday? Do you depend upon your own strength and your own version of “values”? Some of us were brought up knowing right from wrong, but it seems that today many don’t care which one they choose. Many seem to be just “following the crowd”, regardless of what the crowd may be doing. It might be looting a town, burning businesses and cars, throwing bottles at police, and participating in a group which is generally unhappy about something.

It seems that there is no individual happiness and cooperation in our cities and towns any more. Life is whatever you decide is necessary to get by with and if breaking the law is part of the equation, whether it is God’s law or man’s laws, then that is what is usually done. Mostly without regard to the life and property of others as long as you get your part of the loot, it doesn’t seem to matter what happens to those around you.

Life is more than this anger infested challenge to all law enforcers as we have been seeing all over the world and more here in America lately. There is one universal Truth in all of this that holds true for all religions and ethnic cultures…you can’t kill someone, you won’t kill someone if you feel genuine love for that person. I am not speaking of romantic love, I am speaking about the love that comes from God. Not Allah, not Krishna, not Buddha or any of the other religions out there.

The problem that has arisen in the past century is that many people are tired of being told and shown the correct path to follow, so they either choose one that feels good to them or they create a religion which they can mould and fit to their own life and values. The very aspect of a religion fitting your values and choices proves that it is a false religion. Sure, you may feel better about yourself and you may cause others to feel good while worshipping in this fashion. You can even find scriptures which can be used out of context which will make many people think that your religion is part of the Christian group of religions, but if you really tested it against the teachings that Jesus and His disciples taught and wrote in the New Testament you will find that it is just hot air and nothing more.

Becoming angry about someone showing you this won’t change the fact that leading others in this direction will take you down a wide path which leads to hell itself. God never intended for us to get onto a path such as that, but when pride rules your heart and makes you believe that your way is right and everyone else’s way is wrong, that is the direction that you will take. Satan enjoys creating new religions and he has become an expert at it. He will appear to someone in a dream as an angel from God to give them a “revelation” and that they have been chosen to be a “prophet” for God while leading people in this “new” religion or way of thinking.

Many people are convinced that their way, whichever way that might be, is right. The apostle Paul was one of these and he was convinced that these “Way people”, as he called them, were a problem and that they needed to be destroyed or at least arrested and tried. Saul, as he was known at that time, was a very zealous for Judaism and the laws of Moses and this “sect”, as he thought of it, was trying to corrupt the Jewish people. God sent His Son to the Jewish people first in order to bring them back to Him and they refused to see that He was the Messiah. Then, God changed Saul’s heart with an encounter with Jesus so that he could take the gospel to the gentiles and he did a great job of it. So good in fact that he died as a martyr for Christ in Rome, just as Peter did.

Our lives matter to God far more than they seem to matter to us these days. Even the children who are sent but are aborted before they take their first breath, they are precious in His sight too. Seeking out God and His wisdom is not a hard thing to do, but if you want to know the True God, the Creator, the Redeemer, the Rock, then you have to look for Him and today the only place to do that is in the Bible. I preach from the Bible every week and I pray that you read it at least if you don’t attend a church which teaches it. He is good always and in all ways God is good!

What will you do?

There are many problems in our world today. Not just over on the other side of the world, but close to home as well. Break-ins, looting, vandalism, rape, murder, the list goes on and on and on…seeming to have no end in sight. Why? Because, regardless of the wonderful speeches given and the promises made that have all been broken…we are in much worse financial shape than we were six or seven years ago. I am speaking of individually, personally but it is also true collectively for our country too. America is not respected any more. We are the butt of jokes and ridicule in many parts of the world today. Our once great country has lost its focus and its purpose because of our lack of a moral center. We don’t teach morality and good things to children anymore, because we have taken God out of the educational system entirely. People don’t seem to study or read their Bibles anymore either, and many that do complain that they don’t understand them or the rules are too harsh.

There is only ONE rule through the Bible from cover to cover…obedience. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27 Obey the Word of God, that is the only requirement in the entire Bible, God asks for and requires obedience. Does God love us..ABSOLUTELY. Then why does all of the bad stuff keep happening to people in the world? Because, Satan HATES us! Not only does God love us but it is because we are loved by God that Satan hates us so deeply, and in order to hurt God, he will cause diseases, death, misery, pain, wars, brutality toward each other. Satan’s existence is proof that God is real because you can’t have a perfect Creator without an opposite. If there is light, then somewhere there is darkness. If it is cold then somewhere it is hot. God is love and He cares for all of us because we are His creation, so Satan hates us just as strongly and would love nothing more than to keep you away from God! Satan will do anything and everything that he can do…that he is allowed to do, to inflict pain and cause people to doubt the goodness and love of God.

Why do I say this? Because it is true. He subjected Job to a disease which wouldn’t kill him, because God told him that he couldn’t take his life, but it was so painful as to make him to suffer for as long as God allowed it. Why? So God could prove Job’s loyalty to Him and to prove that Job was up to the challenge of Satan. Then, God restored his wealth ten times over and restored his family and gave Job a long life so that he lived over 140 more years after this.

God loves us and will prove it in your life, if you will obey Him and follow Him. He loves you anyway whether you return that love or not, and if He calls you into His Kingdom then you should answer. Don’t put it off and don’t disregard His call when you feel it. If you have been doing that for a long time, today or tomorrow may be the last time that you feel it. Jesus died to give you the chance at eternity in Heaven, all that you have to do is believe in Him and His sacrifice, asking Him to save you and forgive you and then repent of your sins and turn away from the things which have kept you from Him all this time. He will give you strength and the courage to get through every day, one day at a time.

Consider it before it is too late.

What the rest of the world will do

follow ChristThis picture and the caption which goes with it says it all. If we don’t teach our children about Jesus Christ and tell them of His love for them and pray with them, then the world and their teachers in school won’t do it. They would rather teach them alternative ways of getting to Heaven when there is only ONE way and that is through belief in Jesus Christ! None of the religions that are on the stage today that you see in the news or on TV will get you into Heaven except your belief in Jesus Christ and your submission to Him by asking Him to come into your heart and your life and change you.

When that happens, you are a new creation! You are a born-again child of God! There is no wondering if or maybe I am saved, you just are.

God loves you and has loved you since before the world was created by Him. He knew exactly what was going to happen, who was going to fall, the date that it would happen on, the day you and I were born and He is the only one Who knows when you and I will die. Many times people wonder about their life and how it would turn out one way or another. The best part of being a child of God is that your life, if you determine to follow Him every day, can be a joyous life! It may not be one filled with lots of money and fame, but you won’t go hungry. If God takes care of the birds of the air and the grass in the field, He will take care of you.

The rest of the world will chase after money or power, fame or fortune or both or maybe even all of them at once. But, what will all of those things do for you if you are diagnosed with cancer or have a heart attack? Money can pay your bills and get the best doctors, power can aid you in your recovery to an extent, but if the cancer is terminal and there is no treatment which will send it into remission, what then? God is the only One who could heal your heart of its emptiness and heal the cancer too. He may choose to do so by bringing you into eternity, but if you have accepted Him as Savior, then you will be whole and free of pain and disease forever! Money can’t do that, neither can fame or power and you certainly can’t take any of that with you when you die.

Your salvation may have an effect on your family if you do it before you die so they can see it. That is the only time you will have to make that change in your life, before you die. Because once you take your last breath here, you will be there to give account of your life and your choices in that life. Make sure your choices are made before your last breath, preferably long before so that you can show others that Jesus is the Way to eternal life. Even if it is only one day or two, it could truly make a difference in someone else’s life and then they might make a difference too. Your life and your example can touch many people so make the change a good one and follow Jesus.
