Love…heals

A wise man once said that “Love heals all wounds.” It is true and it is a fact. Love is the only emotion which doesn’t hurt, the consequences of lost love are the pain and heartache but true love doesn’t hurt. It is true that those words are not in the Bible exactly, but since Jesus is the embodiment of God’s love toward us you can truthfully say that His Love heals all of our problems. I found this quote which supposedly came from an actor that I admire:

12391764_767543386681173_2827549231088575546_nHe experienced losing his wife a few years ago from an accident while skiing. I prayed for him in his sorrow and grief. That kind of loss would’ve hurt me deeply and I am sure it did him as well. The point of this is that the love that comes from God and your heart as well is a healing love, one that can do no harm.

The greatest of these is love is part of a chapter that I will share here. Think on this, pray about it today because in your sorrow and depression, God’s love can heal the wounds and the pain:

If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror;then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.  (1 Corinthians 13: 1-13)

God’s love never fails, so give Him a chance to prove it to you and He will.

So much…

Why is there so much hate in the world? Why do people get killed for no apparent reason, at home or overseas? What is so wrong with the world and the people in it that causes so much of the population to try to kill each other?

The simple answer is…that there is no simple answer at all! There is nothing simple about it because the evil in the world has had a very long time to perfect its trade and the way that it controls people without them knowing it. Yes, the simple answer is Satan and his demonic forces. Oh, they don’t go around possessing people much today, BUT they do make suggestions about the evil that is done. Manipulating people is their forte’, and they are very good at it!

Why a title like “So much…”? Because there is so much hate and mistrust and anger about things which don’t and won’t matter in the long run, especially today. Why can’t we get along like people should? Because, we never have and we just simply don’t know how!

Our “better nature” isn’t any better than it was two thousand years ago or even further back in time. We haven’t gotten better. I don’t have to prove it, you can see it on the Internet and the news every day!

I know that many of you who come here may be wondering, why I am bringing this subject up at this time of year? Why now? Because, if we don’t look to the Author of Life, our Creator, for help and for salvation before it gets any worse..it will get much worse!

This small post is meant to jar you into thinking about this, in your life and in those lives around you. Search out the Creator and our God, the Only One Who can FIX this in each of our lives! Because if we don’t allow Him to fix each of our lives then how are we supposed to fix the problems around the world? If we can’t get our own lives straight. and we can’t do it alone, then how can we possibly fix our community or the city that we live in or the country where we live?

The only fix for this world is to come to a realization that we all NEED God in our lives and we need to follow Him daily. Learn from His Word, not the Koran but the Bible! They are NOT the same!!

Living through life…

During our lives we all face heartache and suffering at one time or another. Loved ones don’t live as long as we would like them to and when their time is up, we miss them terribly. If our family ties haven’t been as tight with our parents, or our father or brother or uncles, then if something happens to them it may not hurt quite as badly, but we have missed out on a relationship nonetheless. Can we make sure that missing out on a family relationship doesn’t happen? Not really, which is unfortunate, because individual lives change in ways that we can’t know, especially as children.

I lived through a divorce when my parents went through it when I was five and six years old. They went through custody hearings and child support hearings during at least those years and maybe one more. I don’t remember much about those years except for school and the bickering between them on the phone. A young life shouldn’t be subjected to this, but it happens a lot in our country and in many other countries too.

Why am I bringing this up? Because life happens to all of us and it can be good and it can be not so good. The best part about my life, even with the stuff which happened early, was that my grandparents and my Mom were Christians and going to church helped a lot. My mother sang hymns at home and in the car sometimes, so I was exposed to her faith and the faith of my grandparents during a time when I truly needed it.

Life can be tough when you don’t have something to believe in which gives you strength, even though as a young person I didn’t understand the faith that they had or the Bible and the stories in it. I didn’t come to truly get religion and come to Christ until after my son was born. Why did I wait so long? Because I didn’t think that I needed Jesus or rather I thought that I already had Him, but I found out that I didn’t.

Going through the motions of attending church and reading some Scripture and singing hymns makes you “feel” religious, but being religious and being a Christian are very different things entirely. Seek Him out while you have time, today, because you and I are not guaranteed tomorrow.
